There are 40% Budhists and 40% Christians and 10% Free people (no religion) here. That makes them mixed culture. South Korea is a small place..U can travel any city within one hour.. like European countries. The cities are well developed (not as much Europe). There are still some dark places in the city. They donot talk in English.. but people are very helpful and friendly. First stance we may feel that they are very harsh cause they donot talk directly. But that is what their tradition... u need to get introduced. Once u get introduced, you are part of their friends relation..then you can not imagine the support you get.
Koreans are now ruling the Hardware world. They are the people who started hardware revolution along with Japan. Just in recent times they get into software. The country economy is mainly controled by three big companies. Hundai, Samsung and LG.
FYI: some shocking statistics............
CDMA technology is first introduced in Korea and tested here.
Korea is the country with maximum percentage of mobile users in the world. They always walk with mobiles.. sending SMS etc. Here you find landline phone rarely.
Korea is the country with highest percentage of automobile (car) users..
Nice palce to see in Korea is obviously Seol. There are some good parks and historical places. The famous Seol Church (One ofthe biggest church in the world). ( I remeber the story which I read in 5th class I think... a little gal gives her life to keep the bell on the church.) This is the oldest protestant church in the Korea. Then we saw traditional Korean Palaces.. Nice traditional dance and palace. They are far better than French castles..
There are some good moutains for trekking. (I missed )
Samsung is really big company here in Suwan city. Just like Philips in Eindhovan..Samsung is everything in Suwan. There are two football stadiums in the office and basket ball grounds etc. There is one helipad inside the campus.
Best thing I enjoyed is Korean traditional food.. they eat everything and anything like me
...Till now all the Indians who came here faced problems with their eating habbits. Actor Dharmendra might like this palce very much becasue...here everybody says "Khutte my tere khoon pivungaa aur meat kavungaa" ....
Dog meat is Koreans traditional food.
We were taken to lunch on the first day in a hotel...
In Hotels, they sit on the ground and there will be stoves on the small tables infront of you. We all sat around the table and they ordered see food. (It is respect to offer see food to new friends)..Then they first bought a wounderful aquarium and put that on the table with different fishes. I was enjoying looking at the fishes suddenly they lit the stove down........kevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv they are boiling the fishes... that is for eating...........Somehow I made myself ready...The fishes were trying to come out because of heat..and they are again keeping them inside...I could not see that...(BUDHISM?????)
Then once food was half boiled..they started eating....and my collegues were not able to eat that... but I enjoyed everything...Crabs, Sushi, Fish, Octopus...donot know what else went inside...but it was very tasty... all and all thats my first Korea expirience.
